When to Order
We recommend ordering your cake as soon as you know the date of your event. However, if our calendar is not booked, orders may be made up to 7 days before the order date. Don’t hesitate to check with us to see if we can accommodate a specific date!
If you cancel within 30 days of your cake's due date, we will charge you the full price of the cake. If you cancel with more than 30 days of notice before your cake's due date, then we will offer you a 50% refund.
Xia's Kitchen assumes no liability or responsibility after the order leaves our kitchen for pick up, or after the order has been delivered to the final address for delivery.
Editing an Order
You can make changes to your order as long as there are 15 or more days until your order is due. Just email us with the changes you would like, and we will review them and see if it changes the price of your order. The final date of any modifications to your order are due 2 weeks prior to the fulfillment date.
We use silky swiss meringue buttercream for all our buttercream cakes. Meringue is beaten until stiff and glossy, and then butter is added to create a perfectly sweet and flavorful buttercream.
Buttercream covered cakes are coated with a generous layer of buttercream around 1/4" thick. Exposed and nude cakes provide very minimalist finishes. We prefer nude finishes over bare cakes as the thin layer of buttercream or ganache around the outside helps keep the cake more moist.
If you are wanting to keep the cakes a day or two, we recommend opting for a fully coated buttercream cake. Due to the nature of the icing, they are not suited to warm days unless they can be kept away from direct heat and sunlight, or in an air-conditioned environment.
You can customize any of our designs on the product page using the drop-down menus and "additional notes" box. That can mean changing the color of the buttercream, the metallic luster dust used, the stencil applied, the flowers on top, and so on. Keep in mind, however, that we specialize in our own designs and not in those of other cake makers.

Serving & Storage
Buttercream cakes are best stored in the refrigerator and eaten at room temperature. All of our cakes are stored in the refrigerator before pickup/delivery to ensure smooth transportation. Please allow for cakes to come to room temperature before serving.
All of our cakes are served on a stiff 10" cake board.
For nut allergies, we have a number of flavors that do not contain nuts. However, keep in mind that we do operate in a studio that processes nuts.
Unfortunately, we do not provide gluten-free, nut-free, or vegan options at this time. However, we do have a vegan menu in testing and cannot wait to share it with you!
